Music, notably jazz and blues, created by Blacks, is accepted worldwide as art forms that have either expanded, or is within, the canons of great music, worldwide.  That same creativity resides in the work of many Black visual artists. This fact has been studiously ignored by much of the art establishment. It is the mission of Tokesplace to help make that establishment, and the general public, aware of the outstanding creativity of  Black visual artists.

Tokesplace will execute this mission by regularly presenting virtual art shows on Tokesplace.com. The shows will generally feature Black artist who understand and appreciate that the internet overcome the limitations of geography and time inherent in traditional art shows. They will appreciate the value of virtual art shows being available anytime, anywhere, when the show is current and thereafter on the internet. They will recognize that virtual art shows actually add value to traditional art exhibits and vice versa.  They will generally appreciate that internet exposure will help expand the public’s awareness of their art.
